Congratulations to Josephine Sonoqui, who has been selected as our Caregiver of the Month for July! Josephine has been with Home Assist Health since October 2015, and initially got into caregiving as her son is a quadriplegic. Her advice to someone who is considering getting into this field is, “To be open-minded because you don’t know what you are going to get. When your member comes out of the hospital, they are going to act differently than when they are settled at home. Be ready for change.”
When Josephine is not caring for her son, she likes to read and do jigsaw puzzles, as well as go out and people watch. Her favorite food is chiles rellenos, but only the way her husband used to make them, and when she goes out to eat, her favorite restaurant is T-Bone Steak House. Her favorite color is fluorescent green, but only if it is more green than yellow.
