Home Assist Health is excited to announce the nomination of Sam Molla, one of our incredibly passionate caregivers for more than 17 years, for The Home Care Association of America (HCAOA) Caregiver of the Year Award.
This award recognizes the outstanding work of aides, direct care workers and companions to keep seniors and people with disabilities safe and healthy at home. In the past few months, caregivers have demonstrated their dedication and commitment even more, providing care on the front lines of the pandemic.
Sam has been a dedicated caregiver for over 17 years. He goes above and beyond for his members. He provides services for 2 to 3 members per day. He brings a smile to both members, supervisors and office staff.
Sam heard that there was a need in the Developmental Disabilities Division (DDD) and he volunteered to take an extra 12 hours of unpaid training to be able to work with our DDD members. One of the first DDD members Sam provided services to was a very high skill case and was intended to be temporary while a new caregiver completed training. Sam built a trust with the family and member and took on a few extra shifts per week to continue helping.
Sam has been described by numerous Office Staff as: dependable, reliable, always on time, early to meetings and trainings, kind, respectful and a good communicator. When Sam calls into the office, staff smile because they can hear his smile in his friendly greeting. Sam works well with all different members and he is skilled at all caregiving duties: personal care, housekeeping, meal prep, transfers and Hoyer lifts. Sam has already been recognized as one of Home Assist Health’s Caregiver of Month in April of 2019.
Sam, along with the other national nominees will be recognized at HCAOA’s Virtual Leadership Conference on October 5, 2020. The winner will also be announced on this date.
