One of the most rewarding things about being a caregiver is the fact that you will be able to help others on a daily basis. Through the services and support you are providing, you will be having a direct impact on the quality of life of your member. This alone can make the hard work and dedication well worth it! One of our own caregivers, Lisa Ammons, shared her rewarding experience with her member who she referred to as Aunt June. “I had the pleasure of a wonderful client, I called her Aunt June who was in her 90s. She was one of the kindest people I’ve ever met. You would always find her smiling no matter how much pain she was truly in. Every 2 weeks we’d make homemade bread from scratch and she would have me put bread on the neighbor’s door so nobody would go hungry. I loved hearing her stories as she had many of those. She had many hobbies: she liked to paint, play the organ, and watch the Diamondbacks play. I was inspired by her wit and kind heart. God received another “Angel.” Aunt June’s memory will live on forever and those special moments Lisa got to share with her are big reasons why Lisa continues her work as a caregiver. To not only have an impact on her member’s lives but for her members to continue leaving a rewarding impact on her life as well.
