Congratulations to Francisca Alanis, who has been selected as our Caregiver of the Month for February! Francisca has been working at Home Assist Health since January of 2022. She got into this line of work because she was volunteering at an assisted living home and kept getting recommendations to become a caregiver full-time. She currently has three members that she cares for. Francisca would tell new caregivers to have a heart and faith when doing this job because it is so rewarding. She thinks of her members like family. When she is not working, Francisca likes cooking for her mother.
Francisca was nominated for Caregiver of the Month because recently while at a member’s house, she pressed an issue about our member’s son who had a foot injury but did not want to have it looked at by a medical professional. Because of Francisca’s persistence in the matter the son eventually received medical attention, and unfortunately had to have his leg amputated, which possibly save his life due to such a severe infection. Even though the son is not the one who is signed up to receive our services, Francisca still showed compassion for him, embodying the true meaning of Compassion In Action.
