Congratulations to Lisa Ammons, who has been selected as our Caregiver of the Month for April! Lisa became a caregiver in July 2002 with Complete Comfort Care and was part of the transition to Home Assist Health in 2014 when HAH opened. She originally got into caregiving as she assisted caring for her father when he would visit her for six months out of the year. After he passed, Lisa found that she was tired of her job at that time, and her friend suggested she become a paid caregiver fulltime. She said the idea had not occurred to her before, but after looking into it, she completed the courses, and the rest is history. The best advice Lisa has to give to someone who is considering becoming a caregiver, is to listen. She says it can be hard, but caregiving is very rewarding. She also noted if your heart is not in it then not do it, because it is not fair to you or the member.
In her downtime, Lisa enjoys listening to all types of music including Top 40 lists and Rock ānā Roll. She also enjoys taking care of and transplanting plants. Lisa enjoys Mexican food and proclaims herself as a carnivore, as she loves meat. She was also a Phoenix Mercury season ticket holder before COVID and is looking into half season ticket passes again. Her favorite color is purple.
